• Citation from the Mayor and Council of the City of Rockville, Maryland for donating partial proceeds of book to George Washington University Cancer Center.

• Recipient of the 2001 David Hjortsberg Award from the Maryland State Bar Association for "qualities of civility and professional demeanor" (one attorney per year is chosen in the State of Maryland).

• Recipient in January 2005, of a Proclamation from the County Council of Montgomery County, MD, for his efforts to promote civility in public.
